Meet the Author: Greg Staple In-Person
Join local naturalist and author, Greg Staple, for a spring preview of our area’s extraordinary wildflowers. Drawing on his new book, "Get Out There Wildflowers of the Crystal River Valley," Greg will help you find those hard-to-spot blooms and understand the ongoing evolutionary dance between local pollinators and wildflowers. He’ll also talk about how Colorado monitors and protects rare species; the likely impact of climate change; and the importance of looking for unusual flower forms (different colors, mutant structures— such as the spread of pansy-like Columbines) that can drive the birth of new species.
